4th Annual Okanagan Rhythm Fest comes to Penticton

The Okanagan Rhythm Fest Cooperative is excited to present this year’s Fest in downtown Penticton during the height of the tourist season and sun!

The Rhythm Fest begins July 19th as the featured performers for the Sunshine Cabaret. Performing at 7PM that evening will be Yamabiko Taiko of Kelowna, The Rippers and Nankama West African Drum and Dance, and Navarro Franco, this year’s special guest workshop leader from Vancouver.

July 20th from 10AM-5PM, we have various percussion workshops inside the Orchard House and St Saviors Church Hall, and an outside tent workshop area for drum circle, dance and poi spinning workshops. Performing from 6-7:30 will be Bahiti Belly Dance and Katumba Afro-Cuban troupe. In the evening from 7:30-9:30 Orchard House hosts the Barn Ritual World Fusion Dance Band, and at St Saviors Hall Navarro Franco’s Rhythm and Healing Journey. Our Finale Fire Poi Drum Jam is with Kinshira Fire troupe from Kelowna joining Fest drummers from 10-11PM!

A section of Orchard Street will be closed for the day to allow for food and artistian markets, our tent workshops, free performances and Finale.

Registration and detailed information at www.okanaganrhythmfest.ca

Sponsors; Big O Tire, SunFM, EZRock, Downtown Penticton Association, South Okanagan Immigrant Society, and Sesa-Woruban Counseling
